A warm welcome to the Stafford International School (SIS) website!
We present this website to enable anyone and everyone to get a clear insight into the school: what our aims and objectives are; how it functions; what it has achieved; and successes of students, both academic and co-curricular.
We expect it to be a reminder to past students of their days at SIS; to past parents and friends of the school; more especially to potential parents so they are encouraged to visit us and thus make a selection of school for their child/children.
We concentrate first on the academic aspect of our school from Pre-school to the London Advanced Level and Advanced Subsidiary Level classes, detailing subjects taught. We take justified pride in presenting exam results of our students. Consistently our students have got excellent results in the Edexel conducted exams and obtained best or second best results worldwide. Suffice it to mention just one student who has brought honour to SIS and Sri Lanka: Vinayak Rajendran in 2007.
He is at present reading for his first degree at the University of Cambridge.
We offer our students all co-curricular activities ranging from individual sports to team games to swimming and karate. Music, singing and dancing are included; while character building programmes are offered through Little Friends, Guide and Scout clubs.
An annual sports meet and swimming meet further foster team spirit and the House system.
Very importantly we deliberately encourage and nurture an urgent need of the country: unity in diversity through harmonious co-existence. SIS is co-educational and counts in its student body and Faculty all Sri Lankan races and religions. Religious activities are promoted with weekly assemblies by each group and the celebration of festivals in which all participate. Needless to say students enjoy their school lives in happy camaraderie with not the lightest indication of prejudice.
Our school aims at imparting a holistic education with the end result of developing total personalities. We are inordinately proud of this achievement. Our students have been selected to enter universities around the world, mainly in the US, Britain and Australia. Those who have emerged from their higher and further education hold prestigious jobs here in Sri Lanka and abroad.
Our principal boast is that our school is a happy one; nurturing children to express themselves, being individualistic, yet disciplined.
This website is only a peek into SIS. A fuller picture could be obtained by meeting me and looking around our school. The best bet would be to decide to send your child/children to our school.
