About Stafford

The Stafford International School was founded in 1985, by the well known philanthropist Mr. Felix R. De Zoysa to provide an avenue for higher education for the overflow of students who were capable but unable to gain admission to the government schools in the city. From the very commencement the school proved a success, contributing in a big way to the educational needs in the country. It was granted collegiate status by the Educational Department.

Since 1984 in keeping with modern trends and needs the school changed its curriculum and now prepares students for London Exams exclusively, where Science, Technology, Commerce and Management Studies are given highest priority.

Presently the school is lead by the dedicated educationist Mrs. Kalyani De Zoysa, Directress. The principal of the school Mrs. Sunethra Taldena (B.Sc, M.Sc. Edu.Mgt), assumed duties as the principal in the new academic year September 2008. She has an impressive record of achievements in the administrative field. The faculty comprises of specialist teachers who regard teaching as their primary responsibility and serve with utmost dedication.

This is achieved by a wide range of curricular and co-curricular activities; personal attention given to each student; ensuring classes have only an accepted number of students; providing best qualified tutorial faculty. Continuous cooperation is maintained with parents to ensure that home and school environments complement each other thus assuring students a most sustaining and positive atmosphere.
